Being self employed, working from home, making your own schedule and doing what you love are wonderful things. It’s the stuff that dreams are made of. We all want to be able to make as much money as we want, to have the income to be able to generously provide for our families, give back to the world, to be the captain of our own destiny. To leave the world a better place than we found it.
Internet success doesn’t just happen. It takes lots of time and hard work. Dedication. Perseverance. You have to believe it’s gonna happen. You have to decide that no matter what it takes, you will not give up. It can be pretty lonely sometimes. No one else has a clue what you are doing. They think you are playing around on Facebook all day and that you should just go out and get a real J-O-B. They wonder how long this phase is gonna last and you come to your senses. They just don’t get it. You can unwittingly allow yourself to become very isolated, hiding behind your computer screen. Alone.
Then the negative self talk starts…
Maybe they’re right. Maybe I can’t do this. I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t have anyone I can ask for help…
Snap out of it! The answer is to get involved in your local community. Stay connected to others in your area who are in business and have success. It’s so important to be around these kinds of people. I joined mt local BNI group. It changed my whole outlook. My business coach tells me that my energy level has gone through the roof since becoming active with other business people on a weekly basis. What can you join? How about a local chapter or rotary, Chamber of Commerce, Lions club, Royal Neighbors or a charitable organization? You need this kind of interaction a couple of hours a week.
[tbpquotable]Online connections will play a huge part in your internet success.[/tbpquotable] Working on projects, joint ventures like webinars, products, podcasts, etc. will really help you to build your list and broaden your horizons. But how the heck do you make these connections and co-partner on projects if you don’t know anyone online?
It all starts with relationship marketing. You’ve been told that this is the best way to build your list, grow your readership and get clients, and it is. It’s also the best way to open doors to working and partnering with others in your market. Being active and engaging on social media has helped me more than I can say in this area. Not only do I grow my community, drive traffic to my blog and build my list on social media, a myriad of partnerships have come from relationship marketing as well.
Joining online communities, more specifically – memberships with a community vibe are a kick butt way to make acquaintances and alliances. The one that I belong to and highly recommend is MyNams. For under $25 a month you will get an incredible training system, plus an extraordinary sense of community. There’s an active forum where partnerships are encouraged, plus we get together twice a year in person to learn from each other and to get to know each other on a more personal level. A tremendous amount of JV partnerships come from this live 3 day conference. It’s a beautiful thing.
I recently returned from NAMS8 in Atlanta with many new friends, reconnected and got even closer to people I’ve met at previous live events and had a great time. I learned so many things that are going to help me take my business to the next level. I was blessed to meet many people in The Happypreneur community that I’d never had the privileged to meet in the flesh. It was an honor and a privileged to have so many people come up to me and introduce themselves because they knew who I was from social media and my blog.
Get involved in your community, join a business and a charitable organization, reach out to others online in a true and authentic way and go to at least one live event a year. That’s true relationship marketing – the stuff success is made of.

I am really loving the theme/design of your web site. Do you ever run
into any browser compatibility problems? A couple of my blog
audience have complained about my website not operating correctly in Explorer but
looks great in Firefox. Do you have any advice to help fix this issue?

Unfortunately this is not unusual Bessie. Do you use WordPress? It could be the cache needs cleaning, a theme issue or on plugin conflict. I’d start there.
Hey! I know this is kinda off topic but I’d figured I’d ask.
Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest writing a blog article
