Hooray, it’s Q&A Thursday! The time where I answer your blogging and marketing questions.
I’m happy to answer your questions. Let me know where you are getting stuck. Remember, if you don’t ask, you don’t get. Let’s get this party started!
I’m new to online business. You taught me to build my blog (thank you!) and I’m doing well with that, posting several times a week. I think I’m writing pretty good content. My question to you is, what now? I’ve heard you say to re-use your blog content in your other marketing, but how do I do that? I also heard somewhere that if you use your stuff in more than one place that it’s frowned upon by the search engines. Is this true? Could sure use your help.
Good for you! I’m very proud of you for getting your blog in motion! It’s great that you are posting several times a week. That means you have lots of content that you can re-purpose, and save yourself lots of work. You’ve got good content and it’s being published on your blog first. That’s how you want it. You want your original content index by Google on your blog before you use it anywhere else.
You are referring to what is called “duplicate content” and Google only considers it duplicate content if it’s used more than once on the same site. Re-purposing is just fine with the search engines as long as you are using your content in different places.
There are many ways to re-purpose your existing content. Here’s an article I wrote explaining 10 ways to re-purpose your blog content. This will help you with ideas to re-purpose your stuff so you can work smarter, not harder.
I am doing one and sometimes two training webinars each week. I will be teaching this subject soon, so watch my blog for it. I’ll announce it here.
Well, that’s it for today. See you next week, same place same time. Thanks for reading.
