If you are building your own online business, you are quickly discovering that it is like nothing you’ve ever done before. You have to educate yourself, learn a whole new way of marketing and figure out all kinds of techie things you never had a need to know about before. It can be a real challenge.
When I first started my online business there were days I wondered just what in the heck I thought I was doing tackling all of this. I had little knowledge of computers and the internet. I could use the word processor to write letters and make simple flyers, check my email and surf the web, but that was about the extent of my knowledge. I had know idea what I was getting myself into when I started out. I didn’t no I would have to take the courses and rewire my brain for all of this to the extent that I had to. Working online was a much bigger challenge than I ever anticipated.
The upside? Working online was a bigger challenge than I ever anticipated. I love it! I was just going with the flow. I suppose I had “settled” for meritocracy when it came to making a living. Boy howdy has that changed!
I struggled for quite a while before finding the right internet mentors and teachers, but when I finally did, it has been a blast! I love learning the simple technology required, the marketing strategies and the entire Internet marketing process is fascinates me. I’m am challenged like never before and you know what I’ve discovered? I’m up for it! No one could be more surprised by that than me. As an over 50 woman, I never expected to be so stimulated by all of this. My mind is getting sharper rather than slowing down and my creative juices are flowing!
I live in a very small rural town in the Midwest. I’m a wife, a mom and grandma. I care for my 3 year old grandson while my daughter works and my aging mother lives next door. I am not highly educated. I am an average person with a normal life.
My point? If I can do this, so can you.. You can do this.
