You’ve heard the expression, the money’s in the list.   Successful online marketers will testify to the truth of this statement, but before you can earn an income from your list of email subscribers, you will need to build a trusting relationship with them.  That relationship cannot really begin unless they open your emails.  For your email marketing messages to be opened,  the email subject lines you use have to command attention in the same way that attractive newspaper headlines get people to read newspapers.

This article by Brian Clark, on the  CopyBlogger site, gives three useful tips to use when crafting good email subject lines which will ensure you have the best chance of having your emails opened.

Email Marketing Tip – Build A Relationship With Your Readers

Guest Post by Susanne Myers

One of the big advantages of building a list is that you can start a relationship with your readers. No matter what niche you are in, people will have to know, like and trust you before they take your advice and make a purchase via your affiliate link.

Let’s talk about how you can start cultivating that relationship. It all starts with getting them to opt into your list.

Start by making them an offer they can’t refuse. Don’t just invite them to sign up for your newsletter or to get regular blog updates. Instead create a free report, record an instructional video or create a coupon code for them. “Sell” the free offer or ethical bribe in your optin box. [Read more...]

How To Drive Traffic To Your Blog

No matter where you are in your business, you need to use every strategy you know to drive traffic to your blog and opt-ins.

Getting traffic to your blog is the name of the game. If you can do it for free, more the better.  Let’s talk about how using Inbound marketing strategies can help you to drive free traffic to your blog.

So, what the heck is Inbound Marketing?  Here’s how Wikipedia describes it:
Inbound marketing is based on the concept of earning the attention of prospects, making yourself easy to be found and drawing customers to your website by producing content customers value.

In other words, you create dynamo content and sprinkle it everywhere you can with the desired result of driving traffic back to your blog. [Read more...]

When you are new to Internet marketing, building an e-mail list can be daunting. How do you go about doing it? Is there a process? Are there rules? How the heck to get people on your list? Why do I need a list anyway?

By now I’m sure you’ve heard the term” the money is in the list” .  The truth of the matter is that the money is in the list.  As an Internet marketer, your income is dependent upon your list. You must have a targeted responsive permission-based subscriber list. This is the single most important ingredient in your business. It’s absolutely crucial to have people to market to. Setting Up Autoresponder Messages For Multiple Lists

Setting up autoresponder messages when you have multiple lists can be a bit confusing.

It seems like an awful lot of work, even daunting.  But it doesn’t have to be. If you only have one list you will be able to set up all of your evergreen broadcast messages as follow-up e-mails, but if you have numerous lists it isn’t quite that simple.  However, it doesn’t have to be difficult.  When setting up your autoresponder messages sequence, it’s wise to set up at least 6 to 10 follow-up e-mails to get your audience used to hearing from you.  The first follow-up e-mail should be a thank you or welcome message with some good content.  It’s not recommend you promote in the very first e-mail.  However, you shouldn’t to wait any longer than the third e-mail to start promoting.  You want your audience to get used to you promoting to them.  Make sure that you are giving really good informative content; that it isn’t all promotion or they will certainly unsubscribe.

The use of Private Label Rights material is an easy and effective way to set up auto responder messages.  Private Label Rights or PLR means someone else has written the material, you purchase the right to use it. You’ll then change up the material any way you choose because you purchased the rights to do so.  There are many fantastic PLR e-email courses out there that are perfect for your autoresponder messages sequence.  I recommend Nicole Dean’s Easy PLR.com.

You can use special reports broken into several follow-up autoresponder messages or articles that follow the topic your prospects signed up for.  With a free service called Cinchcast.com you could also record short many podcasts to include in your e-mail.  This is an excellent way to add another dimension to how your audience sees you.  By hearing your voice, inflection and accent, they will feel as though they know you better than simply the written word.  Use your imagination.

Something I often do after setting up the initial autoresponder messages sequence is to copy evergreen e-mail broadcasts, and paste them into a follow-up e-mail in my auto responder list.  As you can see it doesn’t have to be difficult with the use of PLR, special reports, e-books, articles, and much more, you can create a variety of autoresponder messages for any number of email marketing lists.

How to Earn Money through Article Marketing

You’ve probably used article marketing to drive traffic to your website. Article marketing is the practice of publishing articles on article directories and other websites to promote your business. It’s a great way to drive traffic and boost credibility. However, did you know you can earn money through article marketing? You can! Here’s how:

#1 Use Article Marketing to Promote Affiliate Products or Services

If you’re an affiliate marketer you will want to use article marketing as a tool to boost your affiliate sales. Articles are a wonderful way to pre-sell products and services. You can write reviews, comparison articles, or simply informative or “how to” articles.

Some article directories allow embedded links in your article content. Others don’t. Take care to find directories that help you meet your goals. If you’re not allowed to embed links, make sure to link to your website or include an affiliate link in your author box.

#2 Use Article Marketing to Promote Your Own Products or Services

Just like you can use article marketing to promote affiliate products, you can use it to promote your own products as well.  You want to provide informative content and to establish your credibility and authority. Link to your relevant products or services in the content to drive traffic to your sales page. Use your content to pre-sell the product by providing information or a solution to your prospect.

#3 Use Article Marketing to Build Your Opt-In List

Opt-in list transform you visitors into prospects that you can market to over and over again. Each prospect then has the potential to turn into a buyer. Therefore, the larger  and more targeted and receptive your opt-in list, the more potential you have for sales and profits.

You can use article marketing to build your opt-in list. Create helpful and informative content. Motivate people to visit your website or send them to an opt-in form or squeeze page. Provide valuable content, content that solves a problem and offers a solution, and your prospects will be hungry for more. They’ll sign up for your list without hesitation.

Article marketing is a fantastic tool to build your business and increase your bottom line. Choose your article marketing sites wisely. Then write great content and watch your profits grow.

How To Start An Internet Business On A Shoestring, Part 2

Part 1 of this article in the previous post I explained that whether you have a brick and mortar business that you want to take online, are a stay at home mom or you find yourself in need of supplemental or full time income, an online business is do-able with minimal investment.

Steps 1-3 covered choosing you business, your business model and your niche.  Now let’s continue.

Step #4
Get a website.  I recommend a WordPress.org blog.  A blog is an excellent way for your customers to get to know, like and trust you.  It gives them a glimpse of who you are and your values.  A blog is a great way to build a community of prospects and customers.  You can hire someone to set up your blog for you for a minimum investment and once set up, you should easily be able to maintain it.  You can install and set  up your own blog pretty easily if you want to.  If you have a little technical experience, it’s fairly easy to do.

Step #5
Offer a free giveaway to attract your target market and grow your email marketing list.  Collecting names and email addresses for your list is a hugely important and ongoing process in your business.  You will need a targeted responsive community of people to market to.

Step #6
Market, Market, Market! Marketing should be 60-70% of your job online. Being active on social media such as Twitter and Facebook, Linked In, joining forums in your niche, blogging, commenting on other popular blogs in your niche and article marketing are some of the most cost effective ways to get the word out about how you are and what you offer.

You can have the business of your dreams for a very small investment.  It doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg to get started online, you just have to get started.

If I can do this you  can too!
