Do you have a plan in place for your business or are you shootin’ from the hip every day?
Take if from me, if you are not scheduling out your days, weeks and months, you are not being as focused and effective as you can be.
I know everyone works differently, but I also know from my own experience as well as with many of my clients, that scheduling creates action guidelines that will keep you focused. It keeps you from drifting along day by day getting very little accomplished.
One of the things that will help you to get clear on all of this is to make a road map of where you want to go in the next year.
Map out what you want to accomplish. If you know what you will focus on each month, you have a direction to go in. This doesn’t mean it’s etched in stone, but it gives you a plan of action.
For example, some of my goals for this next year are:
- Start podcasting – I’ve set a goal for how many podcasts I want to do for the year as well.
- Product creation – I have a set number of new products I want to create
- JV Partnerships – again, I have a number in mind
- Increase my list – once again, I have a specific number there too.
Then I simply break it into months. Before each month, I then break it loosely down into weeks, then days.
