About a year and a half ago I started working out with a personal trainer.
She’s a beast (in a good way). She pushed me to my limits but modified a lot of things in her workouts for my fitness level (is there a -0 level?)
I had never exercised in my life. Well maybe once or twice. Enough that I knew I didn’t like it much. Anyway, to make a short story even shorter, I worked out with her for a year when I could. 2-3 times a week for an hour unless I pulled something or messed my bum knee up again. When that happened I would have to be in a knee brace for several weeks at a time, leaving me unable to workout at all.
It happened so many times that I finally had to give it up. I knew that in no time at all I would be right back to where I started before working out and didn’t want that to happen. My knee was still giving me fits, so what could I do?
A friend said she wished she could work out but she was too out of shape, had two knee replacements and a problem with balance. I decided right there and then, there had to be a way for us to get a good workout without causing bodily harm.
Enter You Tube.
A few months earlier I discovered the mirroring setting from my phone to my TV. What a wonderful thing! I searched You Tube for easy exercise videos, which led me to chair fitness! What a perfect solution for my friend who had balance issues and knee replacements and me with a bum knee. Who knew you can actually get a great workout sitting on your butt!?
Now we work out together twice a week and I usually go it alone a couple of times a week too. I feel like I’ve had a good workout afterwards. I bought myself a few different weight dumbbells and use them in my workouts for a little added strength builder. I use the 7 pound dumbbells most of the time now, but I had to work up to that. You can get a set of 3 different pairs of weights from Amazon very inexpensively.
If you feel like you can’t exercise because you’re too out of shape or due to age or an injury… OH YES YOU CAN!
In the privacy of your own home, at your own pace, with your own personal trainers, for FREE! Cool huh?
There are all levels, some you never leave the chair and some you stand next to for support. There’s even chair yoga and chair Pilates! There are hundreds of them!

You can get your blood pumping, limber up and with some added dumbbells build a little muscle too!
