Positive Affirmations – Change Your Thoughts And Speech, Change Your Life

I’ve tried positive affirmations numerous times in my life without success.

Because I didn’t stick with them,  repeat them often enough or believe they would attract what I was speaking into my life, they didn’t. Duh…

To be honest with you, it was because as a Christian, I was afraid of the Law Of Attraction.  The Law of Attraction, more specifically principles of “The Secret” suggest that we have the power.  This goes against everything I believe.  My beliefs are that my power is not mine, but comes from, to and through me from God.  He is my source of strength, power, provision, health an all else I have and will ever need.  If you believe in a Higher Power, regardless of what your name for that is, you may be able to relate.

At the suggestion of my Life Coach, I started using affirmations and visualization.  I noticed that as I spoke my desires and goals on a regular basis, they just started happening. [Read more...]

Your Online Reputation – Who’s Telling Your Dirty Little Secrets?

Are you guarding your online reputation?

News travels fast.  We all have that one family member that prides themselves on how well they can keep a secret. They promise not to tell every chance they get. In fact, they are so adamant about keeping it on the QT, they make everyone they tell promise not to tell anyone else!

They dig for the dirt and go on fact (or not) finding expeditions just so they can be the first to tell something no one else knows yet.  Come on, you know which sister or cousin I’m talking about…

Let’s hope no one gives them an android, iPhone or laptop… Yikes, they do have those!  That’s why you need to be on your best behavior when working online.  [Read more...]

Three Tips For Magnetizing Your Copy

By Guest Contributor, Michel Fortin

The difference between good copy and great copy is the number of actions it generates. The more actions the copy drives, the greater the copy is.

My friend John Reese, a master at simplifying what we often tend to unnecessarily complicate, says it best. He says the only metric you should ever really count on is this: “Yes” or “No.”

That’s it.

Now, what makes great copy nudge people into action requires a variety of different things — things I often find missing with most of the copy I critique. [Read more...]

Falling Panties And Online Success – Yup, I said it…

By Guest Contributor, Sandy Krakowski, Online success expert

The year was 1999 and our kitchenware business had just passed a record in profits. Things were booming!

Our list had grown to over 20,000 customers, we were publishing a regular newsletter 4x per month, doing regular direct sales campaigns and everyone was tickled pink!

Weekly products were mailed to my house to review for possible sale. Blenders, gadgets, oven inserts and more! Books came on a weekly basis as well!

We had our regular meeting set to roll out our weekly plan. My staff (one other working at home Mom) and I created a newsletter, set sale prices, came up with special promotions and got ready to send out the sales campaign. This became so automatic every week that we could dictate a certain percentage of profits. Add direct mail and things were rolling along smoothly. [Read more...]

What Is A Content Channel?

By Guest Contributor, Juliet McEwen Johnson

The social media beast needs constant feeding. Its hunger is voracious and constant. As soon as a business or professional stops putting out original, quality content their rankings slip and their followers drift on to other more stimulating pastures. A content channel is one solution marketers have identified to help here.

A content channel is simply another way to re-distribute content you have already created by slicing it vertically as opposed to horizontally. It is looking at what you have already written or curated – your categories – and seeing if there is another path potential customers might be looking for the answer your product or service provides. Perhaps it’s taking a broader view; usually it is a narrower view with a hyper specific keyword phrase

Travel.

For example, if you are involved with travel, your blog might have categories by destination and then country. You have the opportunity to re-sift those posts and pictures by season, by heat index, by the kinds of activities you can do when you get there, whether or not facilities are wheelchair accessible or some easy, fun places to take your child with cp.
