Some Pretty Cool Stuff Coming Down The Pike!

profile picturesIt’s a pretty happenin’ place this week here at The Happypreneur!

My assistant Crystal and I have been bustin’ our rumps to get some big stuff ready to roll out for you in the next few days and weeks.

Last week I told you that something cool is coming down the pike to help you feel more confident about putting your lovely mugs on your social media and online profiles. Yep, we’re going to offer you a very affordable way for you to put your authentic yet best “face” forward to make that important first impression because you want the people you meet to think you are the cat’s meow at first glance, don’t you? (notice how I slipped that in to cover that I couldn’t find a good photo for this post and the kitty was just too cute to pass up!)

I’ve just gotta bubble about it! I’m so excited because it’s something that would have helped me to feel more confident and to put myself out there in a bigger way much sooner.  I know how shy you feel sometimes, it isn’t just you, we all do.  When I discovered how to make my profile pictures look just like me only better (and all the Facebook comments proved it), I couldn’t keep it to myself, so we will be offering this service to you very soon, as well!

Another new and exciting project we’ve been working on is The Happypreneur Internship Program. If you want to learn how to build a successful online business from the ground floor up and have 15 hours a week you can devote to it, I will give you the education you need to to make it happen quickly. You won’t have to struggle for years to find out how it all works, like I did. You’ll get an insiders view of how all the pieces fit together.

You’ll start out on a solid foundation and have a business you can be proud of in a very short time. Be watching for details on that, we’ll be opening the The Happypreneur Internship Program up to just a couple of people in the next week or two, so if this sounds interesting to you keep your eyes open as I know the positions will fill up fast.

I’m so pleased with both developments and the positive feedback I’m getting that even though (and because) you can’t see it, I’m doing the Happypreneur Dance!

Pretty exciting stuff, huh? Watch for Happy Headshots next week and more info on the internship program too!

Need Better Profile Pictures? Something Fun And Exciting This Way Comes!

profile pictures, headshotYou know those people who use photos of their cat, dog, kids, or goofy cartoon characters for their profile pictures? Are you one of them?

Many of us struggle with self-image issues. Maybe you feel like you just can’t get a good photo to use in your online profile?  You want a better profile pic for Facebook, Twitter and the forums you frequent. You want  it to be authentic, but you just wish you took a better photo.

Honestly, this is the exact reason so many new online business owners use their cats instead of themselves. It’s because they are self-conscience.

It’s really so important to use a photo of you, not your cat so people can feel like they know you. It’s also important that your photos really do look like you, not a foo-foo Photo Shopped glamor shot.

That’s what lead to the idea to do subtle photo enhancements for you.  I practiced on myself and you told me on Facebook how much you loved the photos. Many people I know face to face said they were awesome, but still look just like me. That’s why I decided to offer this service to others.

Be looking for that next week. I’m giddy with excitement about it!  Happy Headshots – it’s you only better!

I’ll keep you updated!

xoxo

Is Audio On It’s Way Out?

Ya know how they’re always telling you that video is the BIG thing in media today and in the future nothing will beat it? Well you can’t watch video while you’re driving a car or while taking a walk, running or riding a bike. I don’t see people not doing those things now or in the foreseeable future, do you?

While video has an important place in digital marketing, audio is here to stay.  It better be, I just started podcasting!

Here’s a great infographic from crazyegg.com to prove it…

Increase Your Blog Traffic In 2 Weeks

increase your blog traffic

A while back,  circumstances beyond my control caused me to be less active on The Happypreneur blog and social media than normal. This caused my blog traffic to plummet! So I decided to take the bull my the horn and find ways to drive traffic to my blog quickly.

I told you in the first post of this series a few ways you can increase traffic to your blog like I did in just 2 weeks. Then in part 2 of this series, we talked about a few more ways to get free traffic fast.

We’re gonna wrap up this series with 3 more ways you can increase your blog traffic really really fast like I did. Here are a few more of the strategies I used to build momentum for blog traffic.

I always get really big results with this strategy and it’s so quick and easy to do. It amazes me how effective this little trick really is. First, you should join numerous Linked In groups. Be sure they are active and relevant to your niche. I am in about 30 groups. You can join up to 50. Be sure and go in to the settings of each and adjust your email notifications or you will get email from each of them daily. When using this strategy to increase traffic to your blog, you don’t want 50 emails a day coming in from your groups. Yikes!

So here’s how it works… When you publish a new post, all you have to do is head over to Linked In and add your blog post title with the link then share with groups. It’s really easy. Here’s a screen shot to show you how.linkedin
  •  Re-purpose your blog post on MyNams
I love the benefits of membership at MyNams.com!  Aside form the kick azz training, we also get to sharing our blog posts on the members blog.  I simply copy and paste an excerpt from my original blog post and link back to my post from MyNams.  Takes 2 minutes.  Not only does this drive traffic to my blog it gives me an excellent backlink from an authority site which gives me some Google lovin’.  Pretty cool, huh?
  • Post an article on Biz Sugar
This also gives me some good link juice that send sweet Biz Sugar members back to my blog. Same procedure as the MyNams thing.

As you can see there are lots of free n’ easy ways to increase your blog traffic really really fast. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Have you got a good traffic tip to share? If so, please tell us about it in the comments. We really want to know!

How To Dramatically Increase Your Blog Traffic Really Really Fast!

increase your blog traffic

This post could have been more aptly named  (take deep breath here…) “How to dramatically increase blog traffic, page views, new visitors to your website, increase time spent on your site and lower your bounce rate really really fast with these simple strategies”.  But that was a little long for a title, even though that’s exactly what these strategies did for me in less than a 2 week period. Like I said, really really fast! [Read more...]

Dale Carnegie Meets Alice In Wonderland and Free Coaching. Confused Yet?

Anything worth having is worth working for.

Andrew Carnegie, the famous philanthropist and founder of Carnegie Steel, now known as US Steel coined that phrase. He sure as heck knew what he was talking about.

He said that back in the 1800′s and it’s still quoted today.  We’ve all heard it from our parents. I know mine said it every time I wanted something that was gonna cost more than a few bucks.   It meant I was gonna have to work to earn it. Nobody was gonna give it to me. If I wanted it, I’d have to make it happen.

Thanks Mom and Dad.  It’s that  knowledge that kept me going these past years trying to build my online business. Yes I said years.

You see, I don’t remember my parents ever telling me that I could be anything I wanted to be.

I was never encouraged to further my education or reach for the stars. We were raised with a poverty mentality. It was “us” (the less fortunate) and “them” (those that prospered).  I’ve struggled most of my adult life to be one of “them”.  Often getting close, but never really quite getting there. Stretch Yourself And Watch What Happens + Friday Wrap Up

StretchYourself

This week was exciting for me! I stretched myself and got out of my comfort zone at my virtual Mortage Burning Party.  I used the web cam and everyone who attended saw me live. I wore a cute n’ sill party hat and blew a party horn and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Unfortunately I didn’t realize that the web cam part wouldn’t record with the webinar service I used so there’s no “me” on the replay.

I’m a little ticked about that because it was my video “debut” and I looked so damned adorable! [Read more...]

Will The Real Happypreneur Please Stand Up?

Back in the day, I remember a TV show called “What’s My Line?”  It started out in black and white, then went to color and now there is a remake of it with Drew Whatshisname.  (Yeah wise a$$, I know that dates me – I was a little bitty kid, OK!!) Anyway, if you’ve stopped snickering about my age, (it’s a decade before Medicare kicks in, but I did just order my first meal off the senior menu at Denny’s. Ha! Bet you’re still paying full price! Who’s snickering now??)

My point is this… if people have to guess what you do and who you serve in your business, you’ve got a BIG problem. [Read more...]

Did you miss me? Let’s catch up…‏

medium_5265027340Gosh, it’s been a while since you’ve heard much from me. Here’s why… I was sick with the respiratory flu the entire month of December (34 days straight – I even with a flu shot!) and really didn’t work much.

On top of that, my 87 year old mom is a severe diabetic and has gotten an ulcer on her foot. I’ve taken her back and forth every couple of days to the doctor, but it’s not healing. If you know anything about this sort of thing, you know if we don’t get it healed it could eventually cause a loss of limb.  We will have to travel 60+ miles each way, multiple times per week for who knows how long. So your prayers will be appreciated.

I’m so grateful that I am an entrepreneur who works from home and calls the shots. So appreciative that I can do this for my mom without worrying about a boss breathing down my neck or fear of losing my J-O-B. That’s what being a Happypreneur means to me.

==> I hope you’ll hit reply and tell me what being a Happypreneur means to you.  I’d love to feature your answer on my blog and social media with a link back to your blog.

Best Blogging Tips

best2012 was a very good year here at The Happypreneur.  The best!

Readership has tripled.  My list has tripled as well and my income really took off this year.  I started a new private coaching program, hired an amazing life coach and a top notch kick butt business coach.

I’m so looking forward to what 2013 has in store. It’s exciting times we Happypreneurs live in. Very exciting.  15 years ago we couldn’t even imagine being able to quit our jobs, work from home on the computer and decide for ourselves when we work and how much money we make.

Blogging has played a huge role in in our businesses. It’s how our audience gets to know like and trust us. It’s one of the most important business tools today.

Here are a few of The Happypreneur’s best of for 2012… [Read more...]
