Are you building an online business and feel a little bit lonely?
Last weekend I attended “Armand Morin Live”, a live event held 4 times per year for internet marketers who are building an online business. I am going to be honest and admit that this was my first live event ever. At one time or another you’ve probably heard a highly successful Internet marketer say that their career never really took off until they attended a live event. I never understood exactly what they were talking about until now.
You’ve heard “No man is an island”, yet we as Internet entrepreneurs while building an online business, often find ourselves going it alone. It doesn’t have to be that way. It shouldn’t be that way. Make sure you reach out to others online. Comment on blogs that you resonate with, talk to people in forums, join membership sites that are a good fit for your needs and have an active community. I’ve been fortunate to connect with many great people who are building an online business this way, but nothing beats knowing them in person.
That’s where the live events come into play. These events offer an opportunity to meet and get to know some of the top players in our profession. People who can connect you to others in your niche that could turn into JV partnerships, mastermind partners and close friends. I know I made some great new friends at Armand’s event.
It was a pleasure to meet and get to know my favorite mentor Connie Ragen Green. We’ve spoken many times on the phone, but never in person. What a privilege to sit and talk to her, share a meal and have some laughs. We now have more of a connection than ever!
I also had the privileged of meeting Nicole Dean of Easy PLR and Income CPR. Nicole, her mother Patti and I have chatted often online, but never in person. What a hoot she is! Nicole has an infectious bubbly personality and I loved spending time with her!
Connie gathered her students together who are also building an online business at this event and connected us by having a private workshop before the event started. This was a brilliant way to make sure we all knew others at the event and beyond. This group of 8-10 has decided to do a little masterminding and supporting of each other. We will be meeting on the phone a couple of times a month from now on. That interaction is priceless to an online career.
And last but not least, there is so much knowledge to be gained from the speakers on stage. I learned some really incredible tools that I can put into practice and start making more income immediately. How awesome is that?!
If you have never attended a live event, you need to. No excuses. Find a way, find the money it takes to go. It will pay off in spades, I promise!
