First, let me clarify by saying there are some used car salesman that are really nice, honest and ethical people, but there are some who have given their industry a really bad name, being pushy, sleazy and more than happy to sell you a lemon of a used car.
With that being said, let me ask you a very important question.
Your answer could be the reason you are not seeing success in your network marketing business…
On social media, do you position yourself as a pushy used car salesman or an expert in your field?
People come to social media for two reasons…
To connect and build relationships or to do research and get answers. So, what would happen if you were a distributor in your network marketing business that doesn’t push and be all selly-selly? Instead what if you are the one to give them the answers they need?
Focus in on what your audience wants…
What’s one big thing that causes people pain that your product or service can help? Just one thing, don’t try to be everything to everyone or you will reach no one.
Become the expert about that one thing that relates to your business. Is it weight loss, controlling blood sugar, healthy eating, fitness, green living, skin care, how to apply make-up, traveling on a budget? Pick one thing and focus on giving great value and helpful content on that one subject.
Become an expert about that one thing. Not your products, but your ideal customer’s problem. Educate, inform and give them answers to ease their pain. Give them value.
Get crystal clear on exactly who your audience is…
What are their egoic labels? (the labels that they define themselves as…like mom, caregiver, baby boomer, etc) What age range are they? What are their major pain points (problems), what keeps them up at night? What do they look like, where do they live? You should be so specific that you can see that one person in your mind’s eye. That’s who you talk to!
Posting product pics, links and join my team posts is equivalent to the off-line old school network marketing strategies that are not so effective on social media. I’m not saying that they don’t work, but their shelf life is short lived. There are just too many out there doing that. People shut down to that kind of marketing, you will repel and push away the very people you want to attract.
Give lots and lots of value and you will pull in and attract the right audience, cause them to be curious and start asking questions. This gives you the in you need to talk about what you do.
It’s OK to bring up your products occasionally, but creating mystery and curiosity will pull and attract more people into your funnel than “this is why you should buy my product and you need to join my team”.
Here’s my final thought…this is not an overnight thing. Give it time to happen. Love on your audience, give them amazing value and you will start to see success. After all, it wasn’t happening the used car salesman way, right?
